Mental Toughness MTQ48 Psychometric Test
Introduction
Mental Toughness is defined as “The capacity for an individual to deal effectively with stressors, pressures and challenges and perform to the best of their abilities irrespective of the circumstances in which they find themselves." Developed by Professor of Psychology Dr Peter Clough, the test is a quick and reliable method of assessing an individual's Mental Toughness. MTQ48 has a wide range of workplace applications including personal development, succession planning, talent management and recruitment. Measuring Mental Toughness enables us to improve our understanding of:
- An individual's strengths and weaknesses
- Why one person thrives and another fails in the same situation
- Psychological and physical resilience
- Actions individuals can take to enable them to more effectively handle pressure, stress and challenges
How does it work?
MTQ48 measures an individual's Mental Toughness in relation to four key elements:
- Control – both emotional and life control
- Challenge – the extent to which a person sees challenges as opportunities
- Commitment – the ability of a person to accomplish their goals despite setbacks
- Confidence – self-belief and the ability to tackle difficulties with confidence
The test takes less than 10 minutes and can be completed online. From the detailed reports this generates, our qualified coach will then be able to provide in-depth feedback on the individual's Mental Toughness, highlighting areas of potential development as well as strength.
Who is it for?
MTQ48 is ideal for people at all levels who work in challenging and high-pressure environments. It is a powerful tool in both organisational and personal development and may also be used as an integral part of a recruitment and selection process.
