Management Development Programme Training

Thrive in your management role to provide the right leadership

Our management development programme is designed to provide participants with the key skills and knowledge needed to perform effectively in a management or leadership role. The comprehensive six-day programme deals with real business issues and is intended for those new to managing others or as an ideal refresher for more experienced managers.

Delivered by our fully-qualified and experienced training team, the programme takes place over a three month period giving attendees the opportunity to develop their skills in the workplace between the two-day modules.

Module 1 - Introduction

The first module covers a range of essential skills, techniques and approaches to help participants develop their effectiveness as a manager. Day one of the module explores the challenges of leadership roles, including managing and maintaining employee motivation. Day two develops this theme with in-depth self-analysis using the Strength Deployment Inventory®, enabling attendees to identify their individual motivations and discover how this relates to their personal management style.

Module 2 - Personal Effectiveness

The second module is designed to enable attendees to improve their individual effectiveness. Day three of the programme helps participants to identify and understand the different types of behaviour people demonstrate and actively employ assertive behaviour, particularly when dealing with difficult situations. Day four builds on these skills and explores how to influence others, negotiate effectively and generate positive outcomes.

Day 4 - Influencing and Negotiating

  • Key influencing and negotiating skills
  • Influencing and negotiating in day-to-day situations

Module 3 - Managing Others

The final module looks at managing both team and individual performance and the challenges associated with change in the workplace. The first part of the module explores the characteristics of highly effective teams and provides delegates with practical ideas for creating the perfect team. Focus then turns to the individual and effective performance management.

Day 5 - Teamworking and Performance Management

  • Practical approaches to move their team in the right direction
  • Conducting performance and personal development reviews
  • Providing structured and effective feedback
  • Dealing with underperformance

Day six provides delegates with an in-depth understanding of the change process and introduces a range of practical tools and approaches to successfully manage and implement change in the workplace.
