Course Description
Employers are responsible for providing a workplace which is safe and without risk to health including appropriate systems and methods for safe work activities. Employees have a vital role to play in this equation. They need the correct knowledge, attitude and skills which demands appropriate training in the basics of health and safety as well specific training for individual tasks.
Good health and safety standards rely on employers and employees working together to reduce risk and prevent workplace accidents. This course is designed to ensure that employees are made aware of their own safety and that of others.
Course Content
All bespoke courses can be tailored to business and individual needs and typically the content of the course will cover the following topics:
- Health and safety legislation.
- Workplace health safety and welfare.
- Safe use of work equipment.
- COSHH.
- Fire and electrical safety.
- Manual handling.
- Work at height.
- Workplace transport.
- Behavioural issues.
- Principles of risk assessment.
- Other issues specific to client needs can be incorporated.
Who is it For?
This course is aimed at all employees in any industry and will provide an understanding of health and safety that will enable them to co-operate with their employer and contribute to company health and safety management systems.
Course duration
The course will be typically three to four hours depending on specific requirements and can be delivered on clients’ own site.
Certification
Delegates will be awarded a NorthgateArinso Employer Services certificate of attendance.
