The New Bribery Act

Posted on Friday 23rd September 2011 at 17:06 by Book your place on our Webinar now, to avoid disappointment.

What you need to do to prevent your organisation being prosecuted.

On 1st July this year the Bribery Act 2010 came into force. The Act significantly strengthens the anti-corruption laws in the UK.

For the first time an organisation will be at risk of prosecution and unlimited fines if an employee, contractor or temp gives or accepts a bribe. And, as long as you have a business presence in the UK, it doesn't matter where in the world the bribing takes place - the act still applies.

In our webinar Barry Harwood-Gray, an independent employment barrister will explore what the new Bribery Act means for you as an employer.

By the end of the Webex you will know how to:

  • Recognise what may and may not be a bribe
  • Update your policies to address hospitality, gifts, facilitation payments etc
  • Put in place risk management procedures
  • Review your recognition and reward structure so you are not encouraging your staff to commit an offense
  • Ensure your disciplinary procedures cover the actions you need to take in connection with this behaviour
  • Deal with whistle blowing

To reserve your place on the webinar, please confirm your interest by following the registration link to the right, by calling 0845 072 0254 or alternatively email retention@ngahr.com.
