Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) - Health & Safety Training
Course Description
Hazardous substance incidents can affect many people including operators, people working nearby, others on site and members of the public. Systems for the control and safe use of substances are crucial to the safe operating procedures in any workplace where substances are used, stored, handled, transported or disposed of regardless of the quantities involved.
Hazardous substances are used in many workplaces and may lead to a wide range of conditions including dermatitis, asthma, and disease. Around 10,000 people die each year from work-related ill health and many of these deaths are due to exposure to substances hazardous to health.
Under the control of Substances Hazardous to Heath Regulations employers must prevent or control exposure, assess the risks to the workforce and others, maintain controls and monitor workplaces and individuals, they must also provide information instruction and training to anyone that may be exposed.
Course Content
All bespoke courses can be tailored to business and individual needs and typically the content of the course will cover the following topics:

Who is it For?
This course is designed for anyone working with hazardous substances or managing these activities as part of their daily work and can include Managers, Supervisors, Safety reps and employees.
Course duration
The course will be typically three to four hours depending on specific requirements and can be delivered on clients’ own site.
Certification
Delegates will be awarded a NorthgateArinso Employer Services certificate of attendance.
